PantherLearn: Setting up for a Librarian Visit

Your Guide to Embedding Library Resources into your Courses in PantherLearn!

Live Online Session with a Librarian

If you'd like to have a librarian present to your class live virtually, you have 2 options:

  • Go into the Virtual Classroom in PantherLearn and create a meeting to which you can then invite the librarian by sharing a link to that virtual meeting
  • Schedule a Virtual Teams Meeting and invite your attendees.

To Schedule a Virtual Classroom Session in PantherLearn & Invite a Librarian:

  • Go to your PantherLearn course
  • Click on Virtual Classroom
  • If you don't already have a virtual classroom session scheduled for the time you would like the librarian to visit, click on the plus sign in the bottom right corner of your screen to schedule one & fill in the information required. Then save the meeting.
  • Click on the three vertical dots under the Actions column for the meeting
  • Copy the link (URL) for the meeting from the options listed and email that link to the librarian

Once the virtual session/meeting starts, you will then need to join the meeting and enable the librarian to become the Presenter. Here are two quick guides with screenshots:

Alternatives to a Live Online Session with a Librarian

We can work with you to offer many options for your students, including the following:

  • Create a video demonstrating how to search in a database to embed in your course
  • Create a step-by-step guide to evaluating information sources
  • Do a brief live Q&A with your students
  • Offer online chat reference service, with any link you can embed in your course

We also have a guide to help you link to a librarian-created video--great for prerecorded demos or other libary video tutorials:
