The recent Music Modernization Act (MMA) was created to address concerns of creators and digital providers. establishes a licensing system for digital music providers to make and distribute digital recordings; it addresses the muddy waters of pre-1972 recordings; and it allows music producers, mixers, and sound engineers to receive royalties.
